Some more projects to share and time again for blog candy

I was up in Mid-Michigan recently visiting family. My mom and I were bargain shopping, and I found this fun wreath of roses for a super low price -



I bought it, and picked up a fun tassel and metal heart at two other stores for ridiculously low prices. I combined it with LOTS of sparklie Glimmer Mist and a few other odds and ends and it now it is a fun Valentine Wall hanging that looks like this (click on the pic, it will give you a better close up so you can see a bit of the sparkle)-



I have been playing with my Spellbinders dies like crazy lately. I have gotten on a flower making kick, I think it has to do with the fact that it is stinkin' FREEZING outside, and I am ready for spring to arrive. I was fine until we had the big thaw a week or two ago, it was 50 degrees and all the snow melted (about 2 feet worth, wooooo!). Then of course the temps dropped back into the single digits again. Yikes! So, to cheer and warm myself up, I have been making flowers. I have also been playing with boatloads of Glimmer Mist, love that stuff.

Here are some tags I just made for a swap I am in at Scrapbook News and Review (I made extras of course). The theme was metal, so I included lots of coppery accents including copper UTEE, and of course Glimmer Mist (wish you could see the sparkle) -

Here is a mini book I made for my boss, her personality is super energetic and fun. She loves bright and fun colors, and leopard print. I combined those things to creat this mini -







I also have some other projects finished for Sketches - Creatively Yours, but can't show them to you yet. It will be a few weeks til I can. They were fun to create though, can't wait to show you.

I used some of my fav Spellbinders Nestabilities dies - lables, and the daisy die. I also heat embossed the stamps, I have been on a kick with that lately. Of course, I used some of my fav colors, reds, pinks, turquoise and orange. Lots of color!!

Nan will be doing the make and take, and is hosting the package for the auction from the Zutter DT. Lots of DT members sent in things to include in the package. I am working on my tags this week for a swap I am in at Scrapbook News and Reviews. I will show them to you next week, I dn't have enough done to show you today. Mostly piles of supplies. :) I will be off to visit my mom for 3 days the end of the week, can't WAIT!!! It is our Christmas get together of just us girls. It has been too chaotic to go until now. Hopefully the weather cooperates, we have things to do. I will of course be bringing my BIA and working on additional books for the pediatric floor at work too. I only have 3 finished, and my goal is 20. Gotta get busy!

Easy peasy challenge up at Zutter and some odds and ends

I have a super easy challenge posted at Zutter. If you aren't a member yet, you will have to create an account, then simply leave a little love in the gallery on 10 different pictures, post on 3 threads, and let me know you have done this. Easy peasy, right? All the successful candidates will be entered in a drawing for this prize ~

I received some fun packages in the mail this week from some first of the year shopping. I'd like to share the links with you. First, I ordered from Scrapbook Pal, an AWESOME site with fabulous customer service. I found out about this great site from Marisol of Scrapbook News and Reviews (LOTS of fabulous info on the SNR site, check it out here if you haven't already done so). Anyway, I ordered 11 bottles of Glimmer Mist (all priced below retail) and after I ordered, on a Sunday evening no less, I realized I had one of the colors I ordered. I emailed and asked if I could substitute a different color. They did so promptly, and shipped my order the very next morning. There wer elots of updates about my order, and it was packaged super carefully. Here is a picture of the lovely Glimmer Mist bottles I received in just a few days (I took the shipping peanuts out so you could see the bottles)-



PLUS, the shipping was free!!! US orders over $50.00 have free shipping. Amazing deal and super customer service. I definitely bookmarked this site (Scrapbookpal.com)and will be ordering again.

The second site I ordered from was Red Lead Paperworks. They have a lovely selection of gorgeous stamps and other things, but the shipping is a wee bit pricey, (at least I thought it was) and not very fast. I ordered on December 26, and received my package late last week. Perhaps the holidays slowed things down as well. This is the first time I have ordered from them, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I guess I have been spoiled by ordering from sites with exceptionally quick and communicative customer service, and having worked in an internet department of a fabric and craft store for two years, I am familiar with shipping rates and time frames. My package was beautifully done and there were some freebies included though. Shipping was $6.95 for an order priced at $29.45 (even though the actual package had a $2.24 shipping postal label). Regardless, the stamps are lovely, and I can't wait to play with the glaze product.

I have been working on projects for next month. Can't share them yet, but I will as soon as possible. I can share this layout about my grandkids on Christmas morning though -

Happy 2010!!! Can you believe it? Wooooo, time sure does fly by quickly. I have been working on a few projects over the break. Here are a few ATC cards I did for a black and white ATC swap at Scrapbook News and Review. I did an ATC for Rita's Challenge at the New Year's Crop at Citrus Tree Studio,



and I liked it so I tweaked it a bit (added some beads and more bling) and went with it for the swap -



Here is the back, I used some gesso on the transparency, used perfect pearl silver, added some written details, and two more metal duct tape butterflies with rhinestones -



Here are a few more layouts I did for various challenges at the crop -

an old school layout (Cindy's Challenge, use two shapes only, I used rectangle and wavy lines)



a white space layout (page two, it goes with the layout above, night and day of my granddaughter, don't you think?)



A non straight edge challenge (layers)-



and a challenge to use Christmas paper in a non Christmasy way (I used some red and cream Christmas paper from a previous Citrus Tree Studio kit I have been saving, plus some PP from a newer Citrus Tree Kit, Cindy has AWESOME kits!) -



Here are my new projects for Zutter this month too -

A valentine's coupon book -


I will write up the coupons on some shipping tags that are in the pockets of this book. I used lots of things from my stash, library pockets glued together for the pages, and shipping tags for the coupons which will be pages later. I plan on using this little book for a mini album about my hubs when he is finished with the coupons.





Another little Valentine project- a candy holder (it will hang on a doorknob)-



Of course since it is winter I thought I would make some little window hangings -





I also made a few little books to donate to the Pediatric floor at work. I have quite a few of these in various stages of being put together (my son very kindly cut the inside pages for me to help speed up this process). I am making these books out of things in my stash, and some paper the Peds floor received as a donation. The books are pretty simple, the children (ages vary) can add their own journaling or pictures, and embellish them more with little kits I am making up for them. Here are the first three that are ready to take to work -
