Happy New Year!!!

Happy 2010!!! Can you believe it? Wooooo, time sure does fly by quickly. I have been working on a few projects over the break. Here are a few ATC cards I did for a black and white ATC swap at Scrapbook News and Review. I did an ATC for Rita's Challenge at the New Year's Crop at Citrus Tree Studio,



and I liked it so I tweaked it a bit (added some beads and more bling) and went with it for the swap -



Here is the back, I used some gesso on the transparency, used perfect pearl silver, added some written details, and two more metal duct tape butterflies with rhinestones -



Here are a few more layouts I did for various challenges at the crop -

an old school layout (Cindy's Challenge, use two shapes only, I used rectangle and wavy lines)



a white space layout (page two, it goes with the layout above, night and day of my granddaughter, don't you think?)

and a challenge to use Christmas paper in a non Christmasy way (I used some red and cream Christmas paper from a previous Citrus Tree Studio kit I have been saving, plus some PP from a newer Citrus Tree Kit, Cindy has AWESOME kits!) -



Here are my new projects for Zutter this month too -

A valentine's coupon book -


I will write up the coupons on some shipping tags that are in the pockets of this book. I used lots of things from my stash, library pockets glued together for the pages, and shipping tags for the coupons which will be pages later. I plan on using this little book for a mini album about my hubs when he is finished with the coupons.





Another little Valentine project- a candy holder (it will hang on a doorknob)-



Of course since it is winter I thought I would make some little window hangings -





I also made a few little books to donate to the Pediatric floor at work. I have quite a few of these in various stages of being put together (my son very kindly cut the inside pages for me to help speed up this process). I am making these books out of things in my stash, and some paper the Peds floor received as a donation. The books are pretty simple, the children (ages vary) can add their own journaling or pictures, and embellish them more with little kits I am making up for them. Here are the first three that are ready to take to work -

I would also like to say a great big ole thank you to Sandi from Bearly Sane who is so dang sweet. I received the package, and it was totally unexpected and wonderful. Thank you Sandi, you are AWESOME!!! Make sure you check out her blog, she is an extremly talented bear maker.

Helllllllllllooooooooooo!!! Are you almost ready for Christmas?

I am not really ready, but that is OK. After all, it isn't about if I am ready or not! :) We had some company for an early Christmas gathering on Friday, and ended up with a house full of sickies. The flu hit us bad over here! Alllllllllllllllll the way through till today. I have been worrying that I will get sick too and I can't get sick, I have things to finish up at work, but I can't worry about that anymore either. I did not get all the things I wanted to get done finished, but those things happen. I did manage to get two and a half trees put up last week though, and my class in Chicago area is finished, and I am done Christmas shopping, including the gifts for the giving tree at work. So I am pretty darn happy about that. Other good news for me is that next week I only have to work Monday and Tuesday, the rest of the week is FREE!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO, creativity, here I come!!! I am going to get started on a tag swap and an ATC swap I am in over at Scrapbook News and Review. If you haven't checked that place out yet, I highly encourage you to do so! It is fabulous.

I did finish up some more fun and festive tree placemats in the last two weeks, but did not get a chance to take pics. I will share the pattern I created for these placemats after Christmas, so you can work on some for next year. Alrighty? Here is a pic of one I did in September to remind you what I am talking about -


I also finished up some projects for Zutter, but can't share those quite yet. Even though I had very limited creative time in the last two weeks, I am pretty happy with the projects I did get done.

A reminder too, don't forget about the faboo crop at Citrus Tree Studio on December 31- Jan 2! It's gonna be awesome!!!


Well, I need to finish addressing my Christmas cards. I am so behind this year, yikes. Hopefully I will get them mailed before Christmas.

Hi there! How are you all doing today? Have you been scrapping or creating? I am happy to say that I have been scrapping, sewing, and crafting. :)
Here is my project I completed for the 12th day of the Zutter 12 Days of Christmas project -

Love you Forever Card Tutorial by Pam Sandy

I love the variety of rich jewel toned colors in the grosgrain and organdy ribbon Alexx Kesh offers. For this card, I decided to use 5/8" turquoise and white dotted grosgrain and organdy ribbon, as well as lime green organdy striped ribbon, brown satin embossed leaf ribbon, turquoise satin flower shaped embossed ribbon, a baby blue felt embossed flower, a blue and white textured fabric flower, a blue gem flower, and a white button, all products that Alexx Kesh offers. Please feel free to substitute things from your stash if you wish.

First - cut your cardstock base, an eight and a half by five and a half piece of Cardstock Warehouse white cardstock. Fold the eight and a half inch side in half to measure four and a quarter inches. Cut a turquoise piece of cardstock with decorative edge scissors to measure approximately four inches by five and a quarter inches. Adhere turquoise cardstock on top of white cardstock base. Cut a one and a half inch wide piece of decorative paper to go across the bottom of your card and attach.



Cut a piece of white cardstock 3 3/4 inches long by approximately three inches wide. Cut this piece into 4 assorted widths, keeping them similar in size. Adhere them on the right side of your turquoise base, staggering the placement.



Cut 3 pieces of green organdy ribbon for flower stems. Cut and tie "leaves" to 2 strips of green ribbon.



To make the 3 petal flower, cut a 7" piece of turquoise organdy ribbon. Starting at one end, sew a running stitch along the bottom of the ribbon, making two evenly spaced running stitch areas up to the top of the ribbon. This will form your petals. Draw the thread up tight and stitch ends of ribbon together.





Using the same basic technique, cut one 5 inch piece of turquoise and white dotted ribbon. Sew a running stitch along the lower edge of the ribbon only. Pull thread tight to form yoyo or rosette and stitch ends together.

Cut one flower from the turquoise satin flower ribbon (or use a turquoise flower you already have).

Place green ribbons on card base, as well as stitched ribbon flowers, placing the 3 petal flower on the right, and the yoyo flower on the left.



Add blue textured flower and layer felt flower on top on center green ribbon stem. Add blue gem to 3 petal flower, button on center flower, and glitter to center of satin flower.
Layer brown leaf satin embossed ribbon along bottom third of flower stems. You can add some snippets of the green organdy ribbon to the center flower for leaves if you would like. Place letters for card saying on right side of card.



All finished! Enjoy your card.

I am so excited, I have a Friday off!!! I am busy cleaning and arranging things in my basement for a card making pah tee that will be at my house tomorrow. I love having parties, especially when I have time to prepare for them! ;)

I have been busy scrapping and sewing. I have a few creations that I created with my Bind It All that I want to share with you. Here is a full view of a Thanksgiving wall hanging (I will be posting directions on how to create this on the Bind It All blog later this month, don't forget to check for it here) -
